Curating Collectibles

Some people collect antique lamps. Some people collect stamps. Some people collect McDonald's Happy Meal toys. No matter what a person collects, even if she or he is just getting started, learning how to catalog, organize, and display a prized collection can be helpful and fun. Join us as we explore local museums and ask the experts how they curate their collectibles. Stormy Harrell, Collections Manager of Lam Museum of Anthropology walks us through the differences between personal and museum collections, why people are interested in collections, and what happens to the collection in its lifetime or long-term care.
