Synopsis and Discussion

Despite mostly cloudy skies and a warm, moist southwesterly flow, air quality levels remain in the middle to upper Code GREEN range this afternoon. The offshore high pressure ridge will continue to keep a cold front north and west of the state tomorrow, keeping particle pollution levels in the middle to upper Code GREEN range. A backdoor front may nudge into the Triad late Thursday through Friday morning, but southwest flow should strengthen enough during the day on Friday to push it back north as a warm front and keep air quality levels Code GREEN. Conditions on Saturday should be similar to today's current conditions and what is to be expected for Thursday, with air quality levels remaining in the middle to upper Code GREEN range. (Payne)
