E Books
The term e book, or electronic book, can refer to a title in digital format, or to the device or reader on which
it is read. The Forsyth County Public Library offers access to two types of e books. In addition to the e book
readers referred to below, library card holders also have access to netLibrary™ e books.
NetLibrary™ e books are electronic versions of printed books which can be viewed online on any PC connected to the
Internet. You can browse netLibrary™ e books for quick research and reference or check them out and read them at your
leisure. NetLibrary™ provides easy access to the full text of more than 10,000 reference, scholarly and professional
books and is available free through NC LIVE in the Library, or at home. The titles are often more specialized than
those in our collection. For example, a current events-related search yielded twenty netLibrary™ titles, seventeen
of which were not in the FCPL collection due to their cost or specialized appeal.
Since netLibrary™ e books are online, they're available at your convenience---anywhere, anytime. You also don't have
to worry about returning them. netLibrary™ e books are automatically returned at the end of your check out period.
You MUST sign up for a free netLibrary™ account while you are in the Library, but then you can access the netLibrary™
books from any internet computer.
