Internal Affairs
The Professional Standards Division, Internal Affairs Section conducts administrative
investigations and reports findings directly to the Sheriff. We ensure fairness
during each review and take personnel misconduct seriously. Internal Affairs reviews
all vehicle chases, fleet vehicle accidents and use of force incidents involving
employees. Functions also include statistical analysis of reports, policy and procedure
guidelines and determination of changes needed in policy.
If you find that you need to bring a complaint against FCSO personnel, be sure to
note the following:
- Date
- Time
- Names of those involved
- Possible witnesses
- Additional specific information pertaining to the incident (ex: vehicle number,
tag number, location, direction of travel, etc.)
Complaints can be addressed immediately by contacting the Professional Standards
Division, Internal Affairs Section. When the investigation is completed, we will
provide you notification in writing. It should be noted that we cannot provide you
with information regarding disciplinary actions taken against an employee.
