What is POSSE?

POSSE Logo POSSE (Prevent Ongoing Spread of STD’s Everywhere) is a program of the HIV/STI Outreach Section at the Forsyth County Department of Public Health. The POSSE Team provides non-clinical, off-site HIV/STI screenings and education in non-traditional locations in Forsyth County such as churches, jails, universities, homeless shelters, night clubs, community health fairs, etc.

    Thursdays, 4:00 - 5:00 pm

If you would like to schedule the POSSE Team to come out to your event, please complete a Request Formand return it at least one month before the event.

Services Offered

  • HIV and/or Syphilis (Blood Test)
  • HIV Rapid Test (Mouth swab or finger prick)
  • Chlamydia & Gonorrhea Screening (urine based)
  • HIV/STD Health Education Sessions
  • POSSE Information Table (which could include condoms, lubricants, etc.)
