WIC Clinic
WIC stands for Women, Infants, and Children and is also called the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants,
and Children . WIC is a federal program that serves to safeguard the health of low-income women, infants, & children up to age
5 who are at nutritional risk by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating, breastfeeding
promotion and support and referrals to health care.
The Forsyth County WIC program is able to serve English and Spanish speaking clients with a bilingual staff.
Who is Eligible
WIC is available to pregnant, breast feeding and postpartum women, infants and children up to age five. You must schedule an
appointment to determine your eligibility by calling 703-3100. To participate, persons must: |

Be a resident of Forsyth County. |

Have a family income less than 185% of the U.S. Poverty Income Guidelines. A person receiving Medicaid, Work First Families
Assistance (TANF), or Food Stamps automatically meets the income eligibility requirement. |

Be at nutritional risk. A nutritionist or other health professional makes the nutritional risk assessment at no cost to the
participant, usually at the local WIC office. |

    (last appt. at 4:15 p.m.)
Wednesday: 7:45 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
    (last appt. at 7 p.m.)

Additional Information
There are two satellite WIC Clinics available. One is located in the Downtown Health Plaza on Martin Luther King, Jr Drive
and is for Downtown Health Plaza clients only. The other WIC satellite clinic is in Kernersville. Please call 703-3100 for
