Say "I do" under a giant, historic oak tree. Recognized as one of the oldest trees in North Carolina – over 200 years old, this Oak is surrounded by soft mulch 20 feet in radius, creating a neutral stage area for your ceremony. The Manor landscape provides a lush, green lawn with mature trees and bushes, setting the romantic background scene to your wedding celebration.

Other Notes
  • The Oak Tree will no longer be available for rent after the 2011 year
  • Must rent Full Manor House in conjunction with the Oak Tree. The cost of the Full Manor House (downstairs public areas) is $650.
  • Does not include outdoor chairs. Chairs must be rented from an outside company.
  • Furniture from the Manor House may not be used at the Oak Tree.
  • There is no lighting at the Oak Tree, so activities should end before dark.
  • All rented items must be dropped off and picked up by rental agency on the day of your event. No items may be left overnight.
  • Renter may not move, trim, pull up, etc. plants around the Oak Tree. Each instance will result in an additional fee being charged.
  • Nothing may be tacked or nailed to the tree. Each instance will result in an additional fee being charged.
  • No birdseed or rice are allowed. Each instance will result in an additional clean-up fee being charged.
  • There is an additional tent fee for tents placed in Oak Tree area.
  • There is a power source (14 sets of double standard outlets-200 amp) 100 feet from Oak Tree. Tanglewood does not provide extension cords.
  • You can add a carriage ride to your wedding by calling the Tanglewood Stables at 766-9540.
  • No rain dates are available.

General Park Information

  • Tanglewood is open daily from 7:00 am – Sunset (except on Christmas Day).
  • Pets must be under control of their owner and kept on a leash no longer than six feet at all times. All pets must have current inoculations for rabies. Pets must be kept and never left unattended. Pet owners are responsible for their pets using the designated waste area and cleaning up after their pets at the designated area.
  • Golf, Horse Stables, Hiking Trails and Accommodations are available year-around.
  • Gardens are open year-around. Blooming seasons vary.
  • Tennis activities are available from April to November.
  • Water activities can be enjoyed from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
  • Entrance Fee:
    • $8.00 - Buses
    • $2.00 - All others
    Annual passes can be purchased at the Front Gate or Welcome Center for $25.00. Entrance fees & Annual Admission do not include Admission to Special Events.
