Permanent Art Collection Draws Visitors to the New Central Library

The newly renovated Central Library has many good reasons for you to visit, not least of which is the permanent art collection on display throughout the building. The development of this collection was begun by Ralph Philip Hanes in the 1950s and 60s. Hanes believed the library should be a place of enrichment for the community, and he thought that fine artwork on display would be a complement to the books and other materials in the library.

Coding Class for Adults Information Session

Join us at Carver School Road Branch on December 12th at 4 pm and Central Library's Computer Learning Center on December 14th at 4 pm for an information session to learn how to build a basic web page using HTML5 and CSS3. A short demonstration will be given, and you will have the opportunity to register for the full class to be held in January 2018.

See Santa & Mrs. Claus Tuesday Evening at Southside Branch

Enjoy meeting Santa and Mrs. Claus on Tuesday, December 12th, from 5 - 7pm. The Friends of Southside Library invite the public to this free, annual community celebration. Refreshments and an ornament craft await all ages: children, teens, and adults. Drop in and help generate holiday cheer!
