Air quality levels have improved slightly, Thursday, behind a weak frontal passage. Ozone will push into the low code YELLOW range, while particle pollution is lower and code GREEN. Another cold front will push into the Triad, from the west, later Friday. Ahead and along the front, a few scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop later Friday afternoon and evening. The unsettled weather, most likely, will not be widespread enough to keep ozone and particle pollution from climbing into the MODERATE range, Friday. Behind the front, a slightly cooler, drier air mass will overspread the region. Skies will also be sunny, helping to push ozone production higher, Saturday, and allowing ozone values to sneak into the low code YELLOW range. Particle pollution looks to stay code GREEN, Saturday. A strong disturbance will slide to the south of the state, Sunday, but extensive cloud cover and a chance of light rain will help to push ozone lower joining particle pollution in the code GREEN range to end the weekend (GENTRY).
